About PEG-7 Cocoglycerides

PEG-7 Cocoglycerides are polyethylene glycol derivatives of the mono- and diglycerides of coconut oil, with an average ethoxylation value of 7.[1] The number 7 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; for the same base structure, changing this number may also change water compatibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, they are used to reduce friction on the skin or hair while adding a smooth feel and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
