About PEG-6 Trimethylolpropane Triacrylate

PEG-6 Trimethylolpropane Triacrylate is the polyethylene glycol ether of trimethylolpropane, containing an average of 6 moles of ethylene oxide, and the triester of acrylic acid.[1] The number 6 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; for the same base structure, changing this number can also change water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help formula ingredients bind together and maintain their shape, and to form a thin film on the surface of skin, hair, or nails after application.[2]
