About PEG-58 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Isostearate
PEG-58 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Isostearate is a polyethylene glycol derivative of the isostearic acid ester of hydrogenated castor oil ethoxylated with an average of 58 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 58 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. For the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility as well as the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to adjust viscosity and flow.[2]
