About PEG-40 Olive Glycerides
PEG-40 Olive Glycerides are polyethylene glycol derivatives of mono- and diglycerides derived from olive oil, with an average of 40 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 40 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. With the same base structure, changing this number can affect water miscibility as well as the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, they are used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
