About PEG-4 Sorbitan Triisostearate
PEG-4 Sorbitan Triisostearate is the triester of isostearic acid and the polyethylene glycol ether of sorbitol with an average of 4 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 4 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. For the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility as well as the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
