About PEG-4 Lanolate

PEG-4 Lanolate is the polyethylene glycol ester of lanolin acid, which is a fatty acid derived from lanolin.[1] The number 4 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. For the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility and the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
