About PEG-35 Castor Oil

PEG-35 Castor Oil is a polyethylene glycol derivative of castor oil containing an average of 35 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 35 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. With the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formula. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
