About PEG-3 Trimethylolpropane Triacrylate
PEG-3 Trimethylolpropane Triacrylate is a triester of acrylic acid and a polyethylene glycol ether of trimethylolpropane containing an average of 3 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 3 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; for the same base structure, changing this number can also change its water miscibility and the formulation’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help the ingredients in a formulation bind together to maintain its shape, and to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application.[2]
