About PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquilaurate

PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquilaurate is a polyethylene glycol ether of mono- and diesters of lauric acid and methyl glucose with an average of 20 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 20 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; with the same basic structure, changing this number can also alter water miscibility and the formulation's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
