About PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquicaprylate/Sesquicaprate
PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquicaprylate/Sesquicaprate is the polyethylene glycol ether of the mono- and diesters of caprylic and capric acids with methyl glucose, with an average of 20 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 20 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. For the same base structure, changing this number may alter water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
