About PEG-20 Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides

PEG-20 Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides is a polyethylene glycol ether of hydrogenated palm glycerides with an average of 20 moles of ethylene oxide added.[1] The number 20 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number can alter water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
