About PEG-20 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Laurate
PEG-20 Hydrogenated Castor Oil Laurate is a polyethylene glycol derivative of the ester of hydrogenated castor oil and lauric acid, to which an average of 20 moles of ethylene oxide has been added.[1] The number 20 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. With the same base structure, changing this number can affect water miscibility as well as the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
