About PEG-2 Oleammonium Chloride

PEG-2 Oleammonium Chloride is a quaternary ammonium salt.[1] The number 2 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; with the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formulation's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
