About PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Trioleate

PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Trioleate is a polyethylene glycol ether of the triester of oleic acid and methyl glucose containing an average of 120 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 120 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; for the same basic structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, reduce friction and add a smooth feel to the skin or hair, and adjust the viscosity and flow of formulations.[2]
