About PEG-12 Glyceryl Linoleate
PEG-12 Glyceryl Linoleate is the polyethylene glycol ether of glyceryl linoleate.[1] The number 12 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same base structure, changing this number can alter water compatibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and prevent emulsions of water and oil from separating easily.[2] It is also used to dissolve other raw materials to create uniform formulas and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
