About PEG-12 Dimethicone/Bis-Isobutyl PPG-20 Crosspolymer
PEG-12 Dimethicone/Bis-Isobutyl PPG-20 Crosspolymer is a crosslinked polymer obtained by crosslinking the reaction product of hydrogen dimethicone and the allyl ether of PEG-12 with the bis-methallyl ether of PPG-20.[1] The number 12 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; with the same base structure, changing this number may affect water miscibility and the viscosity and spreadability of the formulation. In cosmetics, it is used to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application.[2]
