About PEG-114 Polylactic Acid
PEG-114 Polylactic Acid is an ethoxylated product of polylactic acid composed of an average of 114 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 114 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changing this number may affect water compatibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, prevent the emulsified mixture of water and oil from separating easily, and form a thin film on the skin, hair, and nail surfaces after application.[2]
