About PEG-10 Sunflower Glycerides

PEG-10 Sunflower Glycerides are polyethylene glycol derivatives of mono- and diglycerides obtained from sunflower seed oil, containing an average of 10 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 10 indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changing this number may alter water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, they are used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
