About PEG-10 Polyglyceryl-2 Laurate

PEG-10 Polyglyceryl-2 Laurate is a polyethylene glycol ether formed by adding 10 moles of ethylene oxide to the ester of lauric acid and a glycerin dimer.[1] The number 10 in the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; within the same basic structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel.[2]
