About Palm Kernelamide DEA
Palm Kernelamide DEA is a mixture of ethanolamides of fatty acids obtained from oil palm kernel oil.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, to help prevent the emulsified state from separating easily, and to increase the amount of foam and help it last longer.[3] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to adjust the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of finished products is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
