About Oleth-11
Oleth-11 is a polyethylene glycol ether of oleyl alcohol.[1] The number 11 at the end of the name refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added. It changes the balance between water-attracting and oil-attracting portions, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to make emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
