About Oleth-10
Oleth-10 is a polyethylene glycol ether of oleyl alcohol.[1] The number 10 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; it changes the balance between the water-affine and fat-affine portions, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly blended and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
