About Mea PPG-6 Laureth-7 Carboxylate
Mea PPG-6 Laureth-7 Carboxylate is the monoethanolamine salt of a carboxylic acid.[1] The number 7 at the end of the name refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added, altering the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions and causing differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water and to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and the nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2]
