About Limonene

Limonene is a terpene consisting of one or more stereoisomers among d-limonene, l-limonene, and (racemic) dl-limonene.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce the prominence of unpleasant odors, add fragrance to products or adjust the characteristic odor of raw materials, and dissolve other raw materials to create a uniform formulation.[3] In Korea, d-limonene with a peroxide value exceeding 20 mmol/L cannot be used in cosmetics.[2]
