About Hydrogenated Tallow Alcohol
Hydrogenated Tallow Alcohol is the final material obtained by subjecting Tallow Alcohol to a controlled hydrogenation reaction.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly combined, and to increase the amount of foam and help it remain stable.[2] It is also used to leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth, help maintain the formulation’s condition and properties during storage, and reduce surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] It is used to adjust the formulation’s viscosity and flow.[2]
