About Hydrogenated Castor Oil
Hydrogenated Castor Oil is the end product obtained by hydrogenating castor oil.[1] Because it primarily consists of fatty components obtained from hydrogenated castor oil, it mixes better with oils than with water and is suitable for adding slip and a supple feel to skin or hair while reducing the sensation of moisture evaporating quickly. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and provide a smooth feel, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to reduce surface tension so that ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to adjust the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
