About Glycol Distearate

Glycol Distearate is a diester of ethylene glycol and stearic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, create an emulsion formulation in which water and oil are evenly mixed, reduce light transmission so the contents appear less translucent, leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, and control the viscosity and flow of a formulation.[2] [2]
