About Disodium Ethylene Dicocamide PEG-15 Disulfate
Disodium Ethylene Dicocamide PEG-15 Disulfate is an organic compound with an average m+n value of 15, and R is a coconut acid radical.[1] The number 15 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added. In the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula's viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, and reduce tangling and rough feel in the hair and smooth it into place.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
