About Diethanolaminooleamide DEA

Diethanolaminooleamide DEA is a substituted oleoyl diethanolamide containing a tertiary alkanolamine in its carbon chain.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to increase the amount of foam and help it last longer, lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly, and adjust the formulation’s viscosity and flow. In Europe, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[2][3]
