Di-Tea-Cocamide Diacetate is an amine salt, and its [source text is grammatically incomplete] is a fatty acid derived from coconut oil.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to bind metal ions to reduce their effects on color, scent, and formula stability, help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, and lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[3] In Europe, the maximum concentration is 2.5% in leave-on products, while no separate maximum concentration is specified for rinse-off products. Nitrosamines must also be no more than 50 μg/kg.[2]
