About Dextrin

Dextrin is a gum produced by the incomplete hydrolysis of starch.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to absorb liquids in the formula, such as water or oil; help formula ingredients bind to one another and maintain their shape; and increase the formula’s volume and adjust the amount of solids.[2] It is also used to control the formula’s viscosity and flow.[2]
