About Ceresin

Ceresin is a white to yellow, wax-like hydrocarbon mixture obtained by refining ozokerite.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that can cause hair strands to lift or cling together, help ingredients in a formula bind together and maintain its form, and prevent emulsified water-and-oil systems from separating easily.[2] It is also used to reduce hair tangling and roughness for a softer finish, reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible, and adjust the viscosity and flow of the formula.[2]
