About Cellulose
Cellulose is a natural polysaccharide derived from plant fibers or obtained through microbial fermentation.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to absorb liquids in a formula, such as water or oils; increase the formula’s volume; adjust the amount of solids; and reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible through the product.[2] It is also used to adjust the formula’s viscosity and flow.[2]
