About C10-40 Isoalkyl Acid Glyceride

C10-40 Isoalkyl Acid Glyceride is a monoglyceride obtained from the reaction of an isoalkyl acid containing 10-40 carbon atoms with glycerin.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and provide a smoother feel, to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for smoother conditioning.[2] It is also used to smooth and soften the skin’s surface and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
