About Bitter Cherry Seed Oil PEG-8 Esters
Bitter Cherry Seed Oil PEG-8 Esters are ingredients formed by ester bonds between bitter cherry seed oil and PEG-8.[1] They are a form in which an average of 8 ethylene oxide units are added to the fatty components of bitter cherry seed oil to make them easier to disperse in water, and are easier to use with emulsifiers than the original seed oil. In cosmetics, they are used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel; create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed; and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] They are also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
