About Bis-Hydroxypropyltrisiloxyl Ipdi/PEG-14 Copolymer

Bis-Hydroxypropyltrisiloxyl Ipdi/PEG-14 Copolymer is a copolymer of hydroxypropyltrisiloxyl isophorone diisocyanate and PEG-14.[1] The number 14 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help formula ingredients bind together and maintain their form, allow sebum and impurities to be washed away with water, and increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
