About Acrylates/Steareth-50 Acrylate Copolymer

Acrylates/Steareth-50 Acrylate Copolymer is a copolymer of one or more monomers consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, or one of their simple esters, and an ester of Steareth-50 with acrylic acid.[1] The number 50 at the end of the name refers to the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application and to adjust the viscosity and flow of formulations.[2]
