IPSAThe Time Reset Aqua LotionRather than being moisturizing, it's more of a watery toner that you splash on generously. The toner itself has very little moisturizing power, and it felt like you had to use it together with IPSA's emulsion to complete the routine. I think I repurchased it about twice, but personally, when it came to the toner alone, I couldn't really tell much difference between this and MUJI or other drugstore toners. That's how I felt.

AnuaHeartleaf 70 Daily LotionIf you're looking for a lightweight lotion, I recommend this product. It doesn't feel like quite enough during dry seasons, so I use it with a thin layer of moisturizing cream. Rather than using it for my morning or nighttime skincare routine, I mostly use it as skincare before applying makeup. I didn't really notice much of a skincare effect, so I think it's best for people who just want some light moisture.

CurelMoisture Lotion 1 LightThis is the toner I've repurchased the most! No matter what condition my skin is in, it absorbs right in and feels light, which is so nice! The texture is super watery, almost like water itself◎ I recommend it for both morning and evening skincare!

AlbionFlarune Full Refine Milk F MMy longtime favorite Albion pre-toner emulsion I have dry skin, so I use the richer EM version. This Albion emulsion comes in versions for spring/summer and fall/winter, so I keep repurchasing this line all year round 😽 This one is for fall/winter 🍁 *I love that I can just go to the store without thinking and buy the emulsion that suits the season— perfect for lazy people like me! lol It has a fresh, non-sticky texture and feels gentle with no irritation 🫧 When I use this, my skin feels so soft and fluffy 💭 Since it’s a pre-toner emulsion, you use it before toner, and I love it! It really boosts how well the toner absorbs 🙂↕️ I think it’s an emulsion that’ll work for pretty much everyone 🙆♀️🌟

AlbionExcia Radiance Renew Extra Rich MilkI saw good reviews on X, so I bought the launch commemorative set. I'd been curious about it because I'd heard it improves your skin's condition, and I'd been struggling with whiteheads on my chin due to postpartum skin issues, but since I started using this, my skin seems to have softened and the whiteheads have improved. Nothing I used worked for about a month, but this Excia milk cleared it up, and I'm amazed by the unexpected results! I also often had clogged pores on my cheeks, but since I started using this, even when they get clogged, the plugs pop right out, and I can really feel that my skin has gotten softer.

AlbionFlarune Full Refine Milk F M
A pre-toner emulsion that makes my skin feel plump. I don't notice any special effects, but it feels very moisturizing, and I feel like my skin gets dry without an emulsion...so using this gives me peace of mind, I guess? Something like that. There's a lot in the bottle, so it actually costs much less per gram than budget products. Great value.

AlbionFlarune Full Refine Milk F M
I've been using Albion's pre-lotion emulsion since I was 20. There were periods when I took a break from it, but out of about 19 years, I probably used Albion's emulsion for around 15 of them. I've been using it since the old Exage days, through renewals and product changes, so it's not like I've been using only Flarune for 15 years 😂 When I was using it, I went through about one bottle a month. I've bought so many I have no idea how many bottles it's been…… It's by far the longest relationship I've had with any product in my skincare routine. Albion's pre-lotion emulsion is used right after washing your face, before toner. Even when my skin is dry and rough, I've always loved how soft, supple, and moisturized it feels after using it. Since starting a beauty account on X, I've begun trying all kinds of skincare, so I'm taking a break from it for now. But I still love it. Even now that I use all sorts of products, it's still my go-to that I can see myself coming back to.

Tout VertNano Emulsion PlusI finished the whole bottle! I bought it last fall, and after using it on and off, I finally finished it. Honestly, even by the end, I still couldn't really tell what this had changed for me 😯 It has a lightweight feel, and I guess it was moisturizing...maybe? I didn't feel like my skin got dramatically better because I used it, so I don't plan to repurchase it for now. One good thing, though, was that I found it easy to use even when my skin was irritated. The texture made it easy to incorporate into my routine even when I wasn't in the mood for a heavy moisturizer. And when it arrived, I looked at the bottle and thought, "It's tiny!!!" 😂 I was like, this size for 3,610 yen~? But since you only use a small amount each time, it actually lasted surprisingly long, even though I used it on and off. It's not so much that it was bad; I just couldn't figure out what made it a "this is the one" product for me. Now that I've finished it, I'm going to try a different emulsion next!

ongredientsSkin Barrier Calming Lotion EXOnce I tried it, I understood why it was rumored to make makeup go on better. Even though it's a lotion, it gives the skin just the right amount of glow, and I think the oils are why it's moisturizing enough on its own. It makes my skin feel soft and bouncy. But it's not like the oils make your fingers glide over your skin. It's not exactly sticky either, but it feels like it really adheres to the skin. I think that's why makeup applies so well over it and gives a glowy finish. It spreads really well, so I apply a little at a time and adjust the amount as I go.

NaturieHatomugi Skin Conditioning MilkIt's smooth and spreads easily❗️It glides over my skin and leaves it moisturized without feeling too sticky, and the lightweight texture makes it easy to use after toner⭐️The value for money is just so good that I use it every day◎

KaneboDew Glamast Milk DropYesterday's trip-home cosmetics that had me going, okayyy, this is good 💭 I couldn't be bothered to bring full-size products, so I bought a DEW trial set at Matsukiyo, and it was way better than I expected 🎀🙌🏻🤍 My skin was totally loving it the next morning...!!!! That's Team Kanebo for you!!!! They must've pulled out all the stops with their research tech 🤍👏🏻 The fragrance is gorgeous too 💭 I'll use it for 10 days first and then decide whether to repurchase.

IPSAThe Time Reset Aqua Lotion
It has great moisture retention and makes my skin feel deeply hydrated. I still haven't found another toner that makes my skin feel more hydrated than this one. Maybe it just works well with my skin? When I use it, my skin texture looks more refined. I forget the exact number, but I've repurchased it 3 or 4 times. The texture is light and watery, but it has a little viscosity, so even though it's lightweight, it's still easy to apply, which is nice.

ongredientsSkin Barrier Calming Lotion EX
I bought this because I was concerned about dry skin and sensitivity during seasonal changes❣️ The texture isn't too runny and has just the right amount of richness, so it absorbs easily into the skin and moisturizes really well. It didn't sting, and I felt like it helped calm redness and flakiness. It doesn't get too sticky, so it's easy to use for my morning skincare routine or before makeup. I recommend it for anyone looking to strengthen their skin barrier or find gentle moisturizing care😊❤️
-
DECENCIAWhite Spike VC LotionA fall/winter skincare must-have for dry, sensitive skin I thought stinging was just part of brightening care, but this is formulated with sensitive skin in mind, so it doesn't hurt at all I think it's on the heavier side, so it might not be for people worried about oily skin

IPSAThe Time Reset Aqua Lotion
IPSA The Time Reset Aqua Lotion A toner I've repurchased over and over! It's the kind you can splash on generously, and I loooove how it feels like my skin just drinks it right up! It's fragrance-free and, how should I put it, pleasantly no-frills. It was reformulated a little while ago, and this is the old version, but I love it so much I still have a few bottles stocked up! I reach for it when I just want simple hydration, and it's easy to pair with other skincare products.

AlbionFlarune Full Refine Milk F M
This pre-toner emulsion softens and loosens up the skin, creating a pathway for the rest of your skincare. It provided just the right amount of moisture for spring and summer, and I liked that it wasn't sticky. It was especially good to use in the morning, but I felt like it wasn't quite enough at night. I especially recommend it for anyone who feels like their current skincare routine isn't quite enough, or whose skin tends to get rough and products don't absorb well when the seasons change. Since they released one with brightening ingredients and I bought a pre-toner emulsion from Albion's luxury line?, I don't currently plan to repurchase.

ongredientsSkin Barrier Calming Lotion EX
I bought this when it was getting a lot of buzz for being good to use before makeup. It's a lightweight emulsion, but it still seems to have all the important qualities you'd want from one. I have combination skin that gets oily easily, and it did make my makeup break down a little more easily in the middle of summer. But it's easy to use in every season besides summer! If you wait a little after applying it, the heaviness on the surface goes away, so this waiting time is important when using it before makeup!! Be careful because your makeup will break down more easily if you apply it right away! It's really moisturizing, and it feels like a nice balance between lightweight and moisturizing.

ongredientsSkin Barrier Calming Lotion EX
It's juuust right for moisturizing before makeup. It's not too sticky but still moisturizing enough, and I like it because I don't have to worry much about dryness when I apply my makeup after using this. I haven't really noticed any dramatic skin-clearing effects just from applying it, but it's easy to use because it doesn't interfere with sunscreen or primer after moisturizing, so I think I'll keep using it. It's not enough of an issue to lower my rating, but I feel like the cap gets harder to close over time. But overall, I love ongredients ♡

ongredientsSkin Barrier Calming Lotion EX
I used this as a lotion before makeup! It's so moisturizing that I can't go without it during the inevitably dry fall and winter months! When I apply it in the morning, I don't get dry at all the entire day! I was amazed. It kept me moisturized all day even in my desert-dry office, so I plan to use it again this winter! It doesn't feel heavy, but it stays sticky unless you let it sit for a bit after applying! You can use it morning and night, and it lasted me about six months, so it's also insanely good value for money🤝

Care CeraAP Moisture Barrier Pre-EmulsionI have thin, dry skin, but in spring and summer, too much moisturizing makes me feel greasy and prone to breakouts, so I tried using a pre-emulsion because I wanted to properly hydrate my skin from within. It was too heavy for summer! It didn't really make things better or worse, but partway through, maybe the moisturizing feel got too heavy after all, because my skin became unstable. When I started using a hyaluronic acid serum before toner instead of the pre-emulsion, I felt like the moisture balance became just right. Maybe I'll use the rest in winter~
